Facebook Messenger Basketball has logged 300 million plays in just one week

Facebook Messenger Basketball has logged 300 million plays in just one week

Last week, Facebook added a free basketball game inside its Messenger app, and ever since people figured out how to unlock it, the game spread faster than Michael Jordan can steal basketballs.

Facebook tells us that since the game was added one week ago, “millions” of users have played the #MessengerMadness game (a nod to the ongoing NCAA March Madness, for the sports-illiterate) – with 300 million sessions and counting.

Gives a whole new meaning to the phrase nothing but net.

So far, we’re only able to crack the 30-point mark: after 10 points, the backboard moves side to side, 20 points gets it moving faster and after 30 points, it moves diagonally as well. If you haven’t experienced the action and want to know how to start the game, update your Messenger app then follow the instructions here.
