Facebook partners with Constant Contact to let businesses include restaurant menus on their Pages

Facebook today updated its Pages feature with the ability for businesses to add menus. According to the Facebook Help Center, the option will only appear to an administrator if they have selected “Restaurant/Cafe” as their Page’s category.

Facebook has partnered with Constant Contact to leverage its SinglePlatform system for handling menus. Businesses that already work with SinglePlatform will see their menu automatically added to their Page. Since Constant Contact’s platform is only available in the US or Canada, Facebook is also letting businesses upload a PDF of their menu (go to Settings => Page Info => Menus) directly to their Page.

Businesses can already show their address and hours on Facebook Pages, so this is a natural progression. Other players in the space like Foursquare and Yelp, however, will not be pleased.
