Facebook on Wednesday re-released its Facebook Pages Manager app for Android in the US and the UK. Now Page admins in these two countries can access the same features on their Android devices as their iOS counterparts, including checking on their Page activity, viewing Page Insights, and responding to their audiences.
Facebook told us the app’s other features include:
- Post new updates and photos and respond to comments as their Pages.
- View and reply to private messages.
- Get notifications about new activity on your Pages right away.
- View your latest Pages Insights.
You can grab the app now from the official Google Play Store. Eagle-eyed readers will notice the app was indeed updated on January 9 (today) but is still at version 1.0, as nothing has changed beyond country support (which, according to our last article, was the biggest complaint).
Facebook told TNW last week that Pages Manager was only available in Australia, Canada, New Zealand, and would “be rolling out more widely in the coming weeks.” Since it’s only been a week, we’re expecting more (non-English speaking) countries to be added this quarter.
It’s taken a while for Facebook to bring its Pages Manager app to Android, having released an iOS version in May 2012. Since then, Facebook has updated that app many times, with at least six major revisions so far (version 1.6 arrived just last month).
Despite Facebook’s list above, however, the Android app isn’t as fully featured as the iOS version, which provides admins with options to add and promote Facebook Offers directly within the app. Still, this is just version 1.0, and you can bet we’ll let you know when Facebook rolls out newer versions.
