Amazon announces its most affordable Kindle ever: $69 with new fonts and crisper text

Amazon announces its most affordable Kindle ever: $69 with new fonts and crisper text

At today’s Amazon Kindle event in LA, the ecommerce giant has announced a new $69 Kindle. The company first released its entry-level $79 kindle last year, and now that device has been updated with new fonts and crisper text at a lower price.

Beyond these improvements, little else has changed, but the device is definitely looking like quite a bargain, and will ship September 14th.

This is one of many new models announced today, including the all new Kindle Paperwhite, which features a front-lit screen and 8 weeks of battery life.

Rumors had suggested that Amazon would be announcing a new Kindle Fire tablet, as well as updates to its Kindle e-reader line. We’ll report confirmations as the event unfolds.
