Almost exactly one month after the launch of its partnership in the US, Munich-based Carpooling has hooked up with Uber in Germany to provide people with easier access to longer distance rides.
To be clear, the long-distance element of the journey is still serviced by Carpooling’s regular ride-sharing app that allows people to book empty seats in cars of drivers who want to share costs. Now, however, Carpooling users can seamlessly book an Uber to take them to the start of that journey, or book an ongoing car to take them to their specific destination at the end of the ride.
While it’s only a small change, it’s one that’s designed to make the whole process of using Carpooling’s system more convenient by enabling it all to take place within one single app. Of course, for Uber it means a few more metered rides too.
