NASA has been discovering lots of new and far flung exoplanets with the Kepler telescope – more than 4,000 candidate planets so far. To celebrate those discoveries, NASA’s Jet Propulsion Laboratory has created a series of retro-style posters from the ‘Exoplanet Travel Bureau’.
With Interstellar-style galactic travel not within our grasp quite yet, the designers have had to guess a little at what each planet might look like. We’re pretty sure that plants on a planet orbiting a red dwarf wouldn’t be red, for a start.
The three real exoplanets in this imaginary travel brochure are HD40307g, Kepler-186f and Kepler-16b. You can download the posters as printable TIFs from the NASA site.
