BuzzFeed’s new video app helps you binge watch its shows

BuzzFeed’s new video app helps you binge watch its shows

BuzzFeed is launching a dedicated video app today to give visitors easier access to its videos and to help encourage binge watching.

Jonah Peretti, BuzzFeed’s founder, announced the new app at Mobile World Congress in Barcelona. It’s available for both iOS and Android today and focuses on organizing the company’s shows and short videos in one place.

BuzzFeed Video hopes to enable “a lot more binge watching” according to Peretti, given that there’s a single place to find the latest and the company can reel you back in with push notifications.

You’ll be able to subscribe to regular shows, as well as see what’s trending. Shows like IRL, Creep and Weird Couples will all be available in the app.

What’s most interesting about BuzzFeed Video is it’s the first time the company has tried to own its video platform – before now it’s distributed video by uploading it across Facebook, YouTube and other services, but this means there’s one place to find everything.
