BuzzFeed is launching a dedicated video app today to give visitors easier access to its videos and to help encourage binge watching.
Jonah Peretti, BuzzFeedâs founder, announced the new app at Mobile World Congress in Barcelona. Itâs available for both iOS and Android today and focuses on organizing the companyâs shows and short videos in one place.
BuzzFeed Video hopes to enable âa lot more binge watchingâ according to Peretti, given that thereâs a single place to find the latest and the company can reel you back in with push notifications.
Youâll be able to subscribe to regular shows, as well as see whatâs trending. Shows like IRL, Creep and Weird Couples will all be available in the app.
Whatâs most interesting about BuzzFeed Video is itâs the first time the company has tried to own its video platform â before now itâs distributed video by uploading it across Facebook, YouTube and other services, but this means thereâs one place to find everything.
