Microsoft has today opened up its Star Trek-style translator to all, removing the requirement to sign up to a waiting list for access.
Skype Translator launched in December 2014 and real-time translation of spoken English, Spanish, Italian and Mandarin, as well as an additional 50 languages over instant messaging.
You can call almost anyone who uses Skype and the call is translated on-screen and via voice.
The service only works using the Skype Translator preview app on Windows 8.1 and 10 devices.
