Airbnb has partnered with Deutsche Telekom to pre-install its accommodation app on Android phones in 13 European markets from later this year.
Although it hasn’t announced a definitive date for the launch of this campaign, the company has said you can expect to see Airbnb pre-installed on handsets from this spring. The app will be pre-installed on Deutsche Telekom devices in Austria, Albania, Croatia, Czech Republic, Germany, Greece, Hungary, Macedonia, Montenegro, Netherlands, Poland, Romania and Slovakia.
Users who sign up to the service through Deutsche Telekom will get $35 (€30) vouchers to spend on accommodation. This partnership is a first for Airbnb, but is a move that has featured in the playbook of other successful startups like Spotify, Evernote and Twitter in the past.
