Microsoft’s Cortana virtual assistant is coming to France, Germany, Spain and Italy

Microsoft’s Cortana virtual assistant is coming to France, Germany, Spain and Italy

Microsoft’s digital assistant Cortana is headed to four new countries today. Windows Phone Preview users in France, Germany, Spain and Italy will get access to an alpha version of Cortana. An update is rolling out to the Windows Phone Developer Preview Program to enable the additional languages.

Similar Cortana previews arrived in the China, the UK, Australia and Canada in the summer. The alpha version rolling out to the new countries from today is missing some of the features found in the beta version currently available in the US, UK and China. For example, transit data is limited to larger cities and flight data isn’t available yet, nor is reference data. There are some local additions though, including European football league data.
