Secret rolls out Facebook login support and Web-based collections

Secret rolls out Facebook login support and Web-based collections

Anonymous sharing app Secret today announced the ability to login via Facebook on its Android and iOS apps. The new feature should be rolling out this week.

Facebook support has been Secret’s biggest feature request from users. Previously, the app relied on your phone’s address book. Secret claims you’ll still be fully anonymous because it doesn’t store your public name when you sign in through Facebook.

Also new to Secret is a collections feature that shows popular posts for different categories, such as dating, reflections, funny, work and loss. You can browse the collections on the Web or login and subscribe to them to have them appear in your Explore stream.

Secret also announced $25 million in Series B funding as part of today’s launch. Some investors fittingly chose to remain anonymous, but Index Ventures, Redpoint Ventures, Garry Tan and Alexis Ohanian, SV Angel, Fuel Capital and Ceyuan Ventures are on record as having participated in the round.
