iOS fashion recommendation app Mallzee breaks out of beta with new Tinder-esque UI

Fashion recommendation company Mallzee has launched out of beta and updated its iOS app with a tweaked UI and an emphasis on connecting its users to the clothes that most suit them.

The company says that over time Mallzee will learn a user’s individual style and suggest clothes that it thinks will suit them best; there are already more than two million items available from over 200 retailers, including the likes of Urban Outfitters, ASOS, Topman and French Connection.

Since its original launch during London Fashion Week in September, the company has refined the UI, adding the ability to swipe left to indicate they don’t like a product or swipe right to show that they do – an interface users of the Tinder dating app will already be familiar with.

While it’s by no means the first company to be working in this space, Lyst and Shopcade are just two other examples, Mallzee only allows users to interact and share items with other friends using the app. As an added twist, if you share an item with friends and they vote that you can’t buy it – then you actually can’t, not via the app anway.

The app is free to download, so if you like the idea of having a personal shopper with you at all times, it could be worth checking out.
