Microsoft rolls out Xbox Video on the Web

Microsoft rolls out Xbox Video on the Web

XboxVideo

Microsoft has today launched the Web portal for its Xbox Video service, which provides access for users to stream and download movies and TV shows, just like with its Windows 8.1 desktop app.

It doesn’t bring new features as such, instead, it mirrors what’s already available on the desktop app. It also brings a look similar to Xbox Music, offering a glimpse of the styling cues that the upcoming Windows Phone 8 app will probably follow. However, there’s still no info on exactly when this might launch.

Unfortunately, while the Web platform will sync your purchase information so you browse your content across different devices, there’s currently no HD playback, which might limit it from being some peoples’ primary platform choice for playback.
