Live Nation launches its live music ticket app for Android devices

Live Nation has finally launched an Android app, 18 months after its free iOS app was rolled out.

As with the iOS version, the Android app provides on-the-go access to Live Nation and Ticketmaster ticketed concerts, as well as additional independent local shows across North America.

Live Nation Entertainment is an American entertainment conglomerate, the result of the merger between Live Nation and Ticketmaster back in 2010.

In addition to browsing concerts, the app also offers ticket-on-sale information, pre-sale access, exclusive mobile tickets promotions, show reminders, set-lists, venue information, seat maps and more.

As with any modern app worth its salt, the power of GPS means that listings can be geo-targeted by location, enabling relevant access to local shows or shows anywhere in North America, with the ability to download events directly to your calendar.

“We have seen more than three million downloads of the Live Nation iPhone App in just over a year,” says Michael Rapino, President and Chief Executive Officer of Live Nation Entertainment.  “We are now able to offer Android platform users with the same great access to concerts from Live Nation, Ticketmaster and many independent venues – wherever and whenever they want.”

To customize the app and receive local on-sale and pre-sale ticket alerts for your desired artists and venues, simply search for the artists, events or venues you like and push the star icon to add to your favorites.

As with the iOS app, the Android version is only available to residents in the US and Canada.
