Thinkery: It’s like having Read It Later for your brain

Thinkery: It’s like having Read It Later for your brain

If you’re like us, you spend a lot of time in front of your computer. In our ever-growing quest to find useful tools on the Internet, we’ve run across one that we’re sure you’ll enjoy.

Thinkery is what would happen if Read It Later applied to everything you do. From finding cool stories to clipping relevant text or even creating to-do and shopping lists, Thinkery combines all of it into one simple, web-based tool where you can store them.

Once you’ve gotten your list, you can edit or share it or archive it for later use. Something’s no longer useful? Just delete it. Your Thinkery is an ever-evolving list of things that you find useful or need to keep track of, but would otherwise lose in the shuffle.

There are a few tools which come in handy for Thinkery. The bookmarklet is easy to use for adding URL’s quickly. The Chrome extension provides a bit more flexibility and there’s even a Chrome App for keeping Thinkery with you, perhaps in a pinned tab. My only complaint is that it would be great if the extension would allow you to annotate a link before sending it off to Thinkery, or perhaps via right-click it would let you add a text-only entry such as a to-do item.

The end result is that Thinkery is a crazy-useful tool for keeping your brain organized. Give it a shot and let us know what you think. Have something that you like better? Let us know. We love useful.
