Like Me, Date Me: Can a Facebook like lead to real-world love?

Like Me, Date Me: Can a Facebook like lead to real-world love?

If you haven’t caught the news by now, February 14th is that day when people the world over do the unthinkable in the name of love. If you’re one of those who hasn’t yet found your love, a new site would like to try to help.

Like Me Date Me is a site that is based off of the Facebook Open Graph. You simply login with Facebook, then you can edit your profile to give a bit more information about yourself. After you’re done, you can choose to browse through other members who have signed up on the site. See something you like? Click the button and a message will be sent to them letting them know.

If someone “Likes” you back, you can start a private conversation with them through the site. If they haven’t, you can still send them a public question or message. The profiles are kept very clean and simple, which is likely a good thing. When you’re basing your entire site on a single button click, there’s no need to complicate things.

The site is free (of course) and doesn’t officially launch until February 14th. While that might be at the time of our writing, depending on what part of the world you’re in, we’re guessing that Like Me Date Me is a US-based site and will be getting its major push sometime in the next 12 hours.

For now, there are very few members, but that’s why we’re telling you about it. It’s time for a few of us to get away from our computers
even if we use our computers to make that happen. So drop by, give a browse and see what you can find. Chances are, there’s going to be a major influx of new users over the next few hours so it’s worth a try back if the choices are slim thus far.

If you do end up scheduling a date for Valentine’s day, let us know. Maybe social media can save Valentine’s day after all.
