Mozilla plays Internet safety patrol with Plugin Check.

Mozilla plays Internet safety patrol with Plugin Check.

About a year ago, Mozilla announced its Plugin Check project that aimed to keep users safe by providing update checks for their browsers.

Today, the company takes those precautions a step further by offering plugin checks for everyone.  Whether you use Firefox, Chrome, Safari or Opera, the Mozilla Plugin Check will scan what you’re using and warn you if you’re out of date.

Plugin Check is a flash-based program that deals directly with the source of the plugins.  As such, support for IE 7 and 8 is developing a bit slower, but we’re being promised that it’s in the works.

For site owners, Plugin Check badges will help to keep your visitors up to date, and are available for just a click.
