androiddevelopersThe 6 month long Android Developers challenge is over and the winners are now known. And boy, there are some interesting winners I didn’t know yet!

First prize winner from each category will receive 100.000 dollar, second 50.000 dollar and third place 25.000 dollar. Overall winner get another 150.000 dollar on top of it, second place 50.000 dollar and third place 25.000 dollar.

Or with other words; Google is giving a lot of money away to get some good and interesting new applications to the Android platform. Judging the list below, this tactic worked big time!

  1. Plink Art – makes a picture of a painting and recognizes it.
  2. Word Puzzle – teaches English words to pre-schoolers.
  3. Celeste – augmented reality app that tracks the sun, moon and stars in the sky.

Entertainment Winners

  1. A World of Photo – spin your Phone and it shows you a random Photo based on the direction.
  2. SongDNA – shows detailed information about a song, like lyrics, artist information and video.
  3. Solo – shows guitar chords, lyrics and more during live Music.

Arcade and Action Games Winners

  1. Speed Forge 3D – 3d race game
  2. Graviturn – play the game by moving your Phone and move the red circles off the grid.
  3. Moto X Mayhem – Motor race game

  2. Totemo – puzzle where you have to combine colors and combinations.
  3. Mazeness  – move the ball by moving your Phone.

  2. SpecTrek – augmented reality game where you have to hunt virtual ghosts in your neigbhourhood.
  3. FoxyRing – monitors surrounding sound and adjusts the ringtone accordingly.

  1. Buzz Deck – collects website content like news, twitter and facebook updates and presents this in flip format.
  2. SPB TV – watch internet TV.
  3. FxCamera – adds special effects to your camera like fisheye lens.

Productivity Winners

  1. WaveSecure – secures your Phone and data
  2. Hoccer – setup temporary networks to exchange data.
  3. Tasker – automate a list of taks, like sending a SMS, that can be executed at a set time.

Social Winners

  1. Ce:real – collects the latest news and Twitter trends.
  2. SocialMuse – browse through other people Music libraries and listen to their favorite Music.
  3. SpotMessage – send a message that only can be read by someone else if they are at a certain location.

Travel Winners
