officemedium Wants To Host Your Enterprise Suite

officemedium Wants To Host Your Enterprise Suite

office mediumWhile there is no shortage of hosted enterprise intranet solutions, officemedium is betting that they can do it better than anyone else. officemedium is a “on-demand, web-based, Intranet software for small & medium sized businesses or work groups built for collaboration, centralization, efficiency, and communication.”

If you could not parse that, officemedium is a cloud based enterprise tool. And, from the looks of it, a well thought out, simply designed one at that. The goal is to take your company, simplify the communications, and keep everyone in the same place, at the same time. This is their vision, pictorially:

OM FLOW

That says it nicely. officemedium has a full set of features, including CRM, client integration, group file storage, tasking, events, calender capability, and group social communications. officemedium on feature-by-feature level matches its competition well.

They have a fully functional demo here, so that you can play with the software before getting your feet wet.

The service costs $6 per user per month, and stored data will cost you $1 per gigabyte per month. Hardly expensive. The service is quite new, but appears to be quite small, but growing.

officemedium faces stiff competition, and will need to grow its product to stand out from the crowd. For now, they are a fair competitor that needs to aggressively grow. We will be keeping any eye on them.

– Update –

I reached out to OM for a statement, and they said the following:

“Especially in the technologically-confusing setting of most small-to-medium businesses, we hope to reach out to, and enlighten as many business owners as possible, to the enormous benefits of web-based software; on the efficiency, usefulness, and financial side. Technology, especially on the web-front, has improved so quickly that most businesses are left completely unaware of modern solutions to common software needs. In a business world that moves at the speed it does, companies should no longer be stuck using inefficient and outdated solutions such as desktop email clients, overpriced and confusing software packages, non-networked applications, unnecessary servers, and most importantly, having their data not be remotely-accessible.”
