It’s only been a few weeks since Apple dropped the iPhone 7, but technophiles are already speculating about the company’s next generation of smartphones.

The tech giant is preparing to unveil three new iPhone models in 2017 and all of them will come with glass-backed bodies, Japanese news outlet Nikkei reports. In line with previous rumors, Apple’s next gen smartphones are expected to arrive in three different sizes including 4.7-inch, 5-inch and 5.5-inch.

Nikkei further suggests one of the three new iPhones will be a premium model with a curved edge-to-edge OLED display; the other two models will likely have standard LCD displays.

Here’s what Nikkei’s source said:

Apple has tentatively decided that all the 5.5-inch, 5-inch and 4.7-inch models will have glass backs, departing from metal casings adopted by current iPhones, and Biel and Lens are likely to be providing all the glass backs for the new iPhones next year.

The new iPhone 8 line will use glass supplied by chinese firms Biel Crystal Manufactory and Lens Technology. However, the glass front and back will be held together with an aluminium frame, which will likely be manufactured by Foxconn.

Foxconn previously supplied the glass for the iPhone 7 and 7 Plus, but Chinese rivals Biel and Lens are believed to have the technological edge.

While you’d have to wait till next year to see the new iPhone, today Apple is hosting an event where the company is expected to announce its new MacBook Pro laptops. Find out how to tune in to the livestream from the event here.
