According to his LinkedIn profile, Henri Lamiraux, Apple’s Vice President of Engineering iOS, has departed from Apple. His Facebook profile confirms the same “retired” status.

The news comes weeks after the launch of iOS 7, where Lamiraux reportedly said the version would be his last release, writes 9to5Mac. The latest version, iOS 7.0.3, was a minor software update which launched on Oct. 22, including a refresh to the company’s Find My iPhone app.

Lamiraux joined Apple back in 1990, and worked his way up to top positions where he contributed to engineering the original iOS for the premier iPhone. In 2005, he officially moved to the iOS team, making him one of the few engineers at Apple who was a part of the iPhone project since its inception.
