Apple says iPhone 5s ‘manufacturing issue’ affecting battery life on some units

An Apple spokesperson has told The New York Times that a small amount of iPhone 5s units may be experiencing diminished battery life and slower charging.

“We recently discovered a manufacturing issue affecting a very limited number of iPhone 5S devices that could cause the battery to take longer to charge or result in reduced battery life,” the company said.

Apple is currently contacting affected customers to arrange for a replacement.
