At Apple’s iPhone event earlier today, the company announced that it has updated its dock connector for the first time, launching its new ‘Lightning’ dock connector, an all-digital, adaptive interface connector with improved durability.
The connector will be reversible, so you won’t have to fumble in the dark to connect it. It’s also 80% smaller than its predecessor, and will be implemented in products created by partners including Bose, JBL, Bowers and Wilkins, Bang and Olufsen and more.
That also means Apple will now promote Thunderbolt and Lightning peripherals.
