Google Photos now supports Live Photos on iOS, which should have users seriously questioning where they want to store their images.
Though only available on the iPhone 6s and 6s Plus, Live Photos present an interesting use case for those times when a still image doesn’t capture the whole story. It takes a small bit of video ahead of a picture being snapped, making an image more like a GIF.

Most cloud storage options, like Dropbox, turn Live Photos into static photographs, rendering the feature useless. Apple’s Photos app naturally accepted Live Photos, but that didn’t help those who wanted to back images up elsewhere.
It’s a great option for iOS users, unless you are uncomfortable having images scanned through a machine learning algorithm. If that’s you, it’s probably best to stick with the Photos app that comes with your iPhone.
