heheh bump, very old news this i know but just wanted to point something out to the author
'oleophobic glass' is glass with an antifingerprint material, GLASS, with a antifingerprint material
GLASS.
the charge port and headphone jacks being seperately sealed from the internals is a valid reason for it to be waterproof, not glass, glass is always waterproof.

Unconvinced? try salt water. fresh water is a little forgiving due to the fact its not the best at conducting electricity to the extent it will destroy an electronic device at a rapid rate. But salt water will destroy your iphone in less than seconds. I should know. One beautiful surfing session and one unrepairable iphone equals one neutral day.

right.. its all very easy to test this solution. just buy an iphone, drop it into a pool of water for more than 1 minute and see what happens.
