I think this is scary. I would be that person that won’t wear the glasses. This, to me personally, is taking technology too far.

Not to be the guy who’s all like “I wrote a book about this” but I did happen to just write a book about all this. (Speculative fiction) I’m particularly enamored of the idea of glasses – bringing the jet fighter cockpit HUD to your face. I actually think, if ubiquitous enough, augmented reality would replace/expand the functions of the PDA.

(I’ll spare you putting the link to the book here, but if anyone is interested, it’s on my site.)

I’m afraid you’re mixing ARG (Alternate Reality Game) and AG (Augmented Reality). The ARG games you list by my knowledge did not use AG in the sense your other examples do; e.g. real- and virtual worlds mixed thru a video interface. There certainly is synergy, or even an overlap between AR and ARG, but as concepts they’re 2 different things. ARG’s mix a virtual/conceptual (game)world with our real world, AG adds a virtual (video)layer to our world.
