This was too funny not to share…

  • WTF, Zee?
  • Zee
    Why WTF?
  • Cause this is not funny at all. You're trying to insult the Ubuntu community labeling it as a "funny" picture. I bet you're not a Linux user and never been to a Ubuntu release party.
  • Zee
right, i'm really going out of my way to insult linux users . It's a joke. I found it funny, lots of other people have found it funny (http://friendfeed.com/funny-pics-videos/689d310...) and (http://www.heyokay.com/2009/ubuntu-release-party/#) . Why you're so sensitive to a little bit of humour, i have no idea.
  • This can't be a joke. If I post this picture on my blog and label it as "The Next Web writers", will it still be funny?
  • Absolutely, without any shadow of a doubt. YES!
  • call it "late night at the next web blog"
  • Bernhard
Change the caption to "The four losers from my class who went on to become serial red eye removers at WeDoCreative" and it would be more to the point.
  • Zee
Is that meant to be an insult? I don't really get it
  • Wouter
Hehehe the comments are funnier than the image itself :-).

If you somehow take offense in a picture like this, you clearly have no humour and no self esteem.

    :-)
  • as a dedicated user of Ubuntu for some years now i can honestly say i take offence at this picture.

I mean, the guy on the back left is clearly not an Ubuntu user - where are his glasses?

To be honest, my first reaction was a mild "grr, damn that Zee, taking the p!ss out of us Ubuntu guys" but then looking at it from a "Windows 7 launch party" perspective made me chuckle.

Ya win some ya lose some - us Ubuntu guys lost this one. On to the next one! :)
  • Yah - he must have crashed the party.
  • Zee,

Although the picture is funny, I agree with what people said about it being offensive to the Ubuntu community.

Please consider removing the picture. It isn't adding value to thenextweb.com anyway..
  • Seriously, there is no way in hell i am removing it - you guys are being crazy! Have a sense of humour! I had no idea some of our readers took themselves so seriously!
  • Boris
If you decide to remove I will put it back before you can say "ubuntu". We make fun of Apple, Microsoft and Linux. It would be discrimination if we would NOT make fun of ubuntu too...
  • no_op
Hey, this one is quite old! It is about 3-4 years past since this photo was very popular in Russia. Originally it was called something like 'Welcome to our brains blowing IT-party'. But anyway, thanks for the memories:)
  • I think it's hilarious.

Quit being nerds, take a joke.
  • Matthew Vines
If this is what brings down the Ubuntu community then it needs to fall anyway.

If you can't joke about everything you can't joke about anything.

    ps. Ubuntu rocks
  • Luka Loller
hey man, I was the kid with the blue top, I'd appreciate it you would remove this picture.

    Luka
  • I think the pic is awesome. I needed a bit of a laugh today - and I am an Ubuntu user... Those that are offened are only because they were not invited.
  • I agree - why was he invited and not me? I wear glasses.
  • Matt
Reminds me of BSD vs. Linux :-)

  • LOL !!! ZEE!!! LOL!!! there's someone i just have to show this!!! LOL!!!! so true!!!
  • Ebber
HAHAHAHA! Genious! Both the picture, and you get +10 points for pissing off freetard$ unintentionally! :D
