My network was removed from Zucku("Launched to Exclusively Serve Mature Content Networks") because SG "was getting too many complains". What did they expect tube sites like porntube, youporn, etc get complains daily the important the important thing is how the deal with them.

I've moved my network to Dolphin 7(www.boonex.com/) and have been trying to get my network(http://sondeza.socialgo.com) data for more than 2 months now. My SG account has been closed and no one is replying to my emails. Can someone please remove the data-ownership-guarantee" on the SG website because this is clearly a lie?

Below is an example of the type of unusable data that I downloaded from SG 6 months ago. The csv file does not have delimiters. What do I do with this useless data because I cannot go through 30 000 records and format them manaully.

i have been running a socialGo platform for a while now and it has generated lots of business for my three restaurants….. return customers ect, the difference between socialgo and others is that it looks better, easier to use, cheaper, and has more features and is more on the 'investment' side of social networking….. rather than just for fun socializing like facebook…. however i guess it could be used for more specific socializing as well.. a great product

Adding on to what Pewit said, the data is yours, and the API comes with the price of admission. Kickapps is pretty robust, but API access (above SSO) is very pricey for smaller businesses or personal sites. Also, the UI for SocialGo is more intuitive and easier to modify for the less technical saavy owner/administrator. While still weak in some areas, I think they are off to a great start.

The difference between SocialGo and Ning is that Ning has changed the TOS of their site so that THEY own the member data of all the networks they host – and they’ve also restricted access to tools that might allow you to move your network.

SocialGo also offer billing services (for paid network memberships) and a separate program for adult networks.

However, on SocialGo your network member data is yours!

Shmash.tv may provide what you want/need (www.shmash.tv). It’s a social network for schools but focused on education.

I’d say Ning.com. It’s just socialgo icons are kinda similar to Ning, and I don’t really like clones.
ok, I guess that reasoning is not enough.
Socialgo is easy to use, it just kinda lacks.. I dunno, substance? It feels too.. plain, I guess.

Thanks for your post! I am just one such person – new to social networks and running an “internet school” where privacy controls, moderation and filtering are all vitally important. My students, many of whom are vulnerable, are looking for a separate, unique method of social networking for amongst themselves and so come to me, their Head teacher, asking for suggestions. I spotted Social Go at the BETT, was intrigued and launched our own test bed. Unfortunately, the filtering doesn’t work – I’ve managed to fill all my own posts with choice “anglo saxon” expletives and all have got through! I don’t have the time to run the school and moderate all posts… so where do I go for something for my students to use and to keep them protected? Ning… I’m off to take a look. Any other suggestions would be very welcomed.
