Goodbye @CBM, you’ll be missed.

Goodbye @CBM, you’ll be missed.

Today we’re saying goodbye to one of the family, Courtney Boyd Myers.

Courtney joined us just under two years ago as our East Coast Editor. Her mission was simple: share New York’s finest startups, tech news and entrepreneurs with the world. And boy did she ever…

It was on a recent visit to New York that I truly appreciated how impressive a job she’d done. Virtually every founder, investor, developer and designer I met spoke incredibly highly of her. To say I was proud would be a massive understatement.

If there’s one thing that has always stood out about Courtney, it’s her passion for startups. She’s truly championed the East Coast startup scene and so, in many respects, her new role makes a great deal of sense.

Courtney is moving on to join General Assembly, a “campus for technology, design, and entrepreneurship”, as its Director of Audience Development. If you haven’t yet heard of General Assembly, you will do soon. Like TNW they have plans for world domination and Courtney will be heading up their operations in London. More details on her new role can be found in Courtney’s announcement post here.

The good news for you (and us) is that Courtney isn’t entirely done with The Next Web. She’ll still continue to write for us as a regular contributor, and if/when the day comes that she wants to come back – our doors will be wide open.

For now, we wish her nothing but the best and thank her for everything she’s done to help us get to where we are today.
