Our coverage of all things Google. Founded by Larry Page and Sergey Brin in 1998, Google has grown from a company built around a search engine to a business that offers everything from cloud computing, Android, smartphones, VR devices and more. To reflect that, in August 2015 Google changed its company structure and became a subsidiary of Alphabet Inc. to allow its different businesses to operate independently.
