VR video lets you eat at a virtual McDonald’s — and I’m not lovin’ it

VR video lets you eat at a virtual McDonald’s — and I’m not lovin’ it

McDonald’s has gone fancy. After rolling out a new model called “Just For You” in a number of international locations, we’re now starting to see them in the US. California, Florida and New York all feature the upgraded take on fast food faire, each with their own touchscreen kiosks for customizing your McGreasy, table service and payments made with Android or Apple Pay.

It’s still a McDonald’s, but classier.

If you’re not lucky enough to experience one of the upgraded locations, McDonald’s has you covered. A simulation created for Google Cardboard — and Cardboard-like — device owners allows you to experience all that the upgraded locations have to offer. Simply pull the headset over your eyes and enjoy the magical experience of standing in line, customizing your order, and mingling with other guests and McDonald’s employees.

And you thought actually going to a McDonald’s was sad. I’ll stick with eating virtual tacos with Danny Trejo thanks.
