In Silicon Valley, it’s not unusual to come across startups founded by former Google staff. However, despite the company’s big presence in Dublin, Ireland, the same is yet to happen there. That could well change over time however, and a few ex-Google startups are beginning to emerge.

Vocalytics is a great example. This company is developing ‘personal trainer’ apps for your voice. The idea is that if you can better understand your performance when speaking, you can hone that important speech, pitch or presentation to perfection.

Vocalytics’ first product is Pace Recorder, an app for Android 2.3 devices and above, with wider Android support and an iOS version both on the way. I caught up with co-founder Benoit Curdy at the Dublin Web Summit to find out more about the app and the startup’s plans for the future.
