Samsung Electronics (Samsung) today announced that it will move its R&D subsidiary Samsung Information Systems America (SISA) to a new 8.5 acre campus in Mountain View, California.
Construction of Samsung’s new R&D center in Silicon Valley is expected to start in the second half of 2013, with occupancy expected in 2014.
Samsung will build, and I quote, “two new six-story class-A office buildings totaling approximately 385,000 sq. ft. and two 5-6 story parking structures”.
Said Jay Chang, president of SISA:
“Our company will benefit from the dynamic location, the culture and the diversity of talent here in the region.”
Samsung is obviously not new in the Valley, and has in fact had a presence there for over two decades now. Furthermore, the company in a statement says it aims to expand its facilities across the United States.
