US-based social CRM startup Nimble launches a UK hub to cater for big demand in Europe

US-based social CRM startup Nimble launches a UK hub to cater for big demand in Europe

Nimble, the US-headquartered social customer relationship management (CRM) startup, has announced that it’s expanding into Europe and launching a UK office, in response to growing demand for its service in the EMEA region.

Since it was founded in Santa Monica back in 2009, Nimble has become an established Social Relationship Management platform, bringing relationship management, unified conversations/communications, social media tools, and team collaboration under one roof.

Nimble is now looking to capitalize on its growth in Europe through the hire of a director of EMEA, Richard Young, who will work from its new office near London.

“I am pleased to join the Nimble team and look forward to leveraging my industry business development experience to drive the new opportunities throughout EMEA,” says Young. “As more companies engage in social business, Nimble has a tremendous opportunity to simplify their social business dilemma with legacy CRM systems.”

The platform, created by GoldMine co-founder Jon Ferrara, has seen some pretty impressive early success since its official public launch last year, gaining over 30,000 registered users and 250 partners, and this move into EMEA is the next step in its expansion.

“Over thirty percent of our customers are in Europe, and we have seen overwhelming demand,” says Ferrara. “Richard will play a critical role in developing the company’s long-term growth strategy, strengthening relationships with solution partners, as well as solidifying our presence in key EMEA regions.”

London has seen a few US companies set-up shop in recent times. Zendesk, the cloud-based helpdesk platform launched in the UK capital last June, whilst San Francisco-based enterprise social network Yammer hit London’s East End the following month.

Social CRM: $1bn in 2012

In August last year, Gartner predicted that social CRM would hit $1 billion in revenues by the end of 2012, so it’s certainly an interesting market and one that’s really starting to heat up. Back in December we reported that UK-based Conversocial had hit 30m interactions, and it’s looking to expand its platform significantly around the world in 2012.

Nimble’s new EMEA office is located in Staines, Middlessex, a short commute from the center of London, and will be the key hub for its activities across Europe.
