Louis Vuitton launches community website for aspiring artists

French Fashion house Louis Vuitton has teamed up with five arts institutions in London to launch REcreative as part of the Louis Vuitton Young Arts Project.

The website is set to feature content for young people, and provide them with access to the arts world. It will also provide a platform for sharing ideas, whilst displaying and promoting their work.

From today, aspiring artists can upload their work and share it on the site and across the online community and, needless to say, users can sign-in with their Facebook log-in details. The best pieces will be selected and highlighted by top artists and critics.

REcreative was devised and developed over the past twelve months by youngsters working with the Hayward Gallery, the Royal Academy of Arts, the South London Gallery, Tate Britain and the Whitechapel Gallery.

Louis Vuitton’s Chairman and CEO, Yves Carcelle, told The Telegraph:

The <3 of EU tech

“We are delighted with the peer-led approach the website is taking and cannot wait to see the innovative projects the young people will be creating in response to what they see and learn through exchange and collaborations made possible through REcreative and the Young Arts Project.”
