Virgin Media releases a new “super quick” mobile broadband service

Virgin Mobile 3G stick_550Virgin Media just announced the launch of a new mobile broadband dongle that ups the speed to 7.2Mbps for serious web fiends on the go.

The internet service provider announced it is to offer a new 7.2 Mb mobile broadband dongle, which, it said, will let customers do everything they do at home, on the go.

With previous speeds of around 3.6Mbps, Virgin claim you’ll be able to watch the likes of BBC iPlayer without the frustrating lags, wherever you are.

You can get your hands on it up for a tenner on an 18 month contract (£10 per month for 1GB, £15 for 3GB), and for existing Virgin Media customers, you can get it for £8 and £12 respectively instead.

In other news for Virgin customers, the company also recently joined forces with Tivo to produce its next generation television platform set top boxes, on the other hand, the company has also become the first company to test a filesharing monitoring system.
