Twitter now lets advertisers pay to be right at the top of your feed

A new feature for advertisers from Twitter called First View allows marketers to pay to get right at the top of your timeline every time you log in.

First View is a new ad unit that shows promoted tweets and Moments at the top of your feed, promising “significant audience reach” with the very first ad spot in your timeline.

First View can be booked back to back by advertisers, so that you’re always guaranteed to see video advertising at the top of your timeline — but only one advertiser is allowed to have each 24 hour slot and different advertisers will be shown on consecutive days.

The company also hasn’t said how much the ad spot will cost, but it’s likely to be one of the more expensive options.

It’s only available for 24-hour periods and guarantees the top ad slot in timelines as a promoted video for the advertiser. First View isn’t available to all who want to pay yet — the company is only rolling it out to ‘managed users’ in the US who interact with Twitter frequently, but it’ll go global in the coming months.
