Are you sick of trying to get your dog to pose for some Instagram shots? Well, you can put the treats down – your days of taking ten photos to get one useful one are no more.
The Posting Tail is a normal looking vest for your canine companion but with a twist – it has a built-in camera, sensor, 3G Wi-Fi dongle and a Raspberry Pi processor.
Ever been to a tech festival?
TNW Conference won best European Event 2016 for our festival vibe. See what's in store for 2017.
Why? Because this vest gives your pet control of its own social media posts.
The sensor is used to detect the dog’s tail movement and is supposed to be able tell if the pooch is happy or not based on how it wags its tail. If the sensor reckons your dog is happy, it will take a snap and automatically upload it to your dog’s social media accounts.
There’s also a GPS sensor on-board so you’ll be able to map out the places that make your dog the happiest over time.
Anyone hoping to trial the device can apply for a chance to do so on Pedigree.es and it’s not clear when or if the device will ever be available to buy publicly. It was created in association with advertising brand Saatchi & Saatchi so it’s hard to believe this is something we’ll be seeing on the streets anytime soon; But it’s certainly a novel idea that would surely be welcomed by some snap-happy pet owners.
