Hollywood is shopping on YouTube and could turn ‘Ultimate Dog Tease’ into a movie

One more YouTube hit could soon be turned  into long-form content, Variety reports. The latest low-budget video to have caught Hollywood’s eyes is called “Ultimate Dog Tease”.

As you may remember, this hilarious sketch featuring an owner teasing his talking dog was the most watched video on YouTube in the UK in 2011. Here it is, in case you were not responsible for any of the 94 million views it gathered since it was first posted in May last year:

According to Variety, this video could now become a feature film, to be produced by Paramount’s genre label Insurge.

Of course, turning a funny one-minute video into a full-length movie implies a lot of development work. This led the studio to hire two comedy writers to work on the script – Alec Berg and David Mandel, who have also worked on ‘Seinfeld’ and ‘Curb Your Enthusiasm’.
