Designer 3D glasses to wear at the movies? Either a crazy or brilliant idea

Designer 3D glasses to wear at the movies? Either a crazy or brilliant idea

You know when you go to see a 3D movie and they give you an ugly pair of glasses to watch it with? You hardly look stylish, do you?

Ingri:Dahl is a project that aims to solve this ‘problem’ with a range of designer 3D glasses that you buy to keep. They’re available in a variety of sizes and designs, and the Norwegian twins who created them say that they’re compatible with movie theaters around the world and many 3D TVs too.

Kine and Einy Paulsen have already launched their first design, and now they’re raising money via Kickstarter to release their spring 2012 collection of five designs. They’re aiming to raise $10,000 of pledges by 27 January, and have so far amassed $3,668.

Now, on one level this is a ridiculous idea – it’s dark in movie theaters so no-one’s going to see what you look like anyway. However, if you’re a dedicated moviegoer who hates the idea of thinking “Who wore these glasses before me?”, they could be right up your alley. Who knows, maybe they’ll catch on?
