Is this 84-year old man the world’s oldest iPhone app designer?

Is this 84-year old man the world’s oldest iPhone app designer?

George Weiss has been inventing for over 50 years, and at the age of 84, his one invention that made it to market has now also been made into an iPhone app.

Weiss invented Dabble – The Fast Thinking Word Game – where players get 20 letters each and in five minutes, have to use them to spell out five words.

Weiss is no stranger to failure though. Weiss spent the last fifty years coming up with 80 inventions that never got anywhere. Dabble is now Game of the Year for 2011, and with the help of developers at Flashy Substance and Itch, he’s now created an app version of the game which is being sold for $0.99.

Weiss’ story is the epitome of picking yourself up after failure, and going right back to the drawing board. And also, it shows that you’re never too old to come up with an app which made it into the What’s Hot and New and Noteworthy lists in the iTunes App Store in over 20 countries worldwide.
