Is a printer (with ink) cheaper than just ink?

Yes, it is and it is insane. Isn’t it time we start complaining about this? It just doesn’t make sense! We are getting screwed over for these damn cartridges. I’d rather pay more for that damn printer and get the ink cheaper than feeling ripped off like this. Am I alone on this one? Surely not! So now what?
