Welcome to CHEAP, our brand-new series about things that are good, but most of all, cheap. CHEAP!

You can’t talk about the Kindle without wading into an e-reader vs. normal book debate. And, well, I’m here to solve that once and for all. Are you ready? Good.

Both e-readers and normal books are wonderful. If you consider yourself a novel fanatic, you should have both. Each have their benefits and each have their downsides. There, problem solved.

Now that’s out of the way, if you’re on a hunt for an e-reader, the Kindle Paperwhite truly is your best choice. Hell, we said as much in our review of the device.

I still have the previous model of Paperwhite and love it to bits. In many ways, I’m waiting for it to break so I can upgrade and take advantage of the new model’s features. You know, things like it being waterproof, its Audible support, and how it can now be used with Bluetooth headphones.

Ugh, now I’ve typed that I might have to go and throw my current Kindle into the lake.

Anyway, Amazon is currently selling the 8GB Kindle Paperwhite for $99.99 – a full $30 (or 23 percent) off its retail price. If you’d like to upgrade to the 32GB version, that’ll cost you another $20 on top. To be honest, I’m not sure why you’d need that much storage, but I understand why you’d want it.

Also, we’d be remiss to not mention that the $100 price does include the standard “special offers” feature though. Basically, this turns your Kindle lockscreen into a (pretty unobtrusive) advert. I know people that aren’t bothered by this at all, but I consider the $20 it costs to turn them off well worth the money.

Still, you can do this at any point after purchase, so there’s no need to make the decision now.

And there you have it! If you’re on the hunt for an e-reader, or just like books in general, it’s now a great time to pick up the new Kindle Paperwhite. You won’t regret it.
