Microsoft shows off Office Graph API’s cross-platform integrations for Office 2016

Today at BUILD, Microsoft showed off its new cross-platform integrations that developers can use to build apps that deeply embed inside Office via the Office Graph API.

During the presentation, the company showed off some interesting real-world scenarios like an Uber integration that allowed users of Outlook to create a ride reminder directly from their calendar appointments.

That same ride reminder set in Outlook will pop up on your iPhone automatically when the time arrives.

The idea is that these integrations also work seamlessly across devices. Another demonstration showed an integration from SAP that worked across Excel on the desktop and iPad.

Microsoft CEO Satya Nadella said that the idea is designed to stop you jumping between applications and helping you get things done from a single place.
