The new operating system is a significant update that should make the Apple Watch a much more useful device. Most importantly, third-party apps can run natively on the device, as opposed to being streamed from your phone. That should help them load and run faster, in addition to allowing them to provide more advanced functionality with a new set of APIs.
The new OS also adds various new watch faces, more powerful complications and a smart agenda feature named TimeTravel, which lets you use the watch’s digital crown to see upcoming events and weather updates.
The update was originally delayed due to the discover of a major bug shortly before launch. Apple did not expand upon the issue, but we can assume it’s been successfully resolved.
You can download watchOS 2 via an update on your iPhone’s Watch app. For more on the latest operating system for your wrist, be sure to check out our full review here.
