Samsung expected to release new bezel-less smartphone by Q3

Samsung expected to release new bezel-less smartphone by Q3

Samsung is rumoured to be working to release a new Android smartphone that is almost bezel-free by the third quarter of this year, according to executives quoted by Korean news outlet MK News.

The device is codenamed ‘Galaxy B’ and sports a large AMOLED display, with no bezel on the side or bottom of the device and is reported to feature a small section at the top only to squeeze in an earpiece and a front-facing camera.

It isn’t known whether the smartphone is Android-powered but given the company’s Google-centric strategy as of late, we expect this to be the case.

Given that the report states the device has been in development for some time, it is likely to increase speculation that the ‘Galaxy B’ smartphone may eventually become the company’s next flagship Android smartphone, otherwise known as the Samsung Galaxy S III.

If it isn’t the Galaxy S III, it may make an appearance at Mobile World Congress, although we aren’t so sure this will be the case. Samsung is not holding a press conference at the event, choosing instead to show its new products at its stand at the show.
