Instagram Gets A Chinese Clone Of Its Very Own

Instagram Gets A Chinese Clone Of Its Very Own

In a world of digital products and services, the true test to know when your offering has really made it is if it gets a clone of its very own.

We’ve seen them before, China already has its own Tumblr, LinkedIn and Facebook clones, so it won’t surprise you to learn that popular photo sharing iPhone application Instagram has been given the Chinese cloning treatment and is ready to download, for free, on the App Store.

Named LomoKR (or Magic Music Library if you believe the translation), the service is remarkably similar to that of its western counterpart, providing a photo sharing social network for users, complete with Instragram-style buttons and 10 oh-so-similar filters to transform shots into pieces of art.

The profile pages have also been ripped-off perfectly:

If you’re a Lomography fan, you might be interested to know that in this case, Lomo stands for “Let Our Life be Magic and Open!” – interesting.

The app description is something to behold also (via Google Translate):

Magic Music library is a landscaping and sharing photos on mobile phone software. The main product features include: a key to enhance photos, fast upload and download, sync and sharing community.

Convenient landscaping photo: lomokr provides more than 10 photo filters, users only need one click to a photo landscaping.

Quick Upload Download: Software use technical means to increase the speed ofuploading and downloading photos to the fastest, so that users have the best experience.

There you have it, a free Chinese-language Instagram rival of your very own. It’s a shame that the website (lomokr.com) doesn’t resolve, we would love to know more about this social photo app.
