Sky’s digital movie store is now open to non-subscribers – and it sends you the DVD too

Your choice of places to download movies in the UK and Ireland isn’t exactly limited. There’s loads including iTunes, Google Play and Amazon to name three. That’s why Sky’s offering has an extra weapon – it’ll send you a DVD too.

Buy & Keep has been around since March 2014, but it was previously limited to Sky subscribers. Now anyone can use it through Sky Store (which opened up to non-Sky subscribers back in 2013) or the company’s apps.

Movies are viewable on mobile devices, Roku, YouView, NowTV or a Sky+ HD box, and you can register up to four devices to a single account, two of which can stream the same movie simultaneously.

New releases cost £13.99, while older titles come in at £7.99. While that’s not exactly cheap, you’ve got to factor in the bonus of getting a hard copy in the post, which Sky says won’t take more than five working days.
