The New York Times has rolled out a new responsive HTML 5 Web app that replicates the exact content of the day’s print edition.

Today’s Paper is optimized for tablets and desktop browsers only, and is essentially an extension to the online section of the same name. The Web app includes all the usual sections, articles and photos that you would see in the print edition, but deviates slightly from this path by also including some video. You can also scroll back and read editions from the past seven days.

As you’d expect, the content will only be open to New York Times’ subscribers, as is the case with most of its digital offerings. The Today’s Paper app replaces an experimental Times’ Web app it launched for iPad last year, after they realized that Today’s Paper was one of the most popular sections.
