Yahoo gets some satisfaction with exclusive $40 Rolling Stones live-stream on Dec. 15

Have you ever leapt from your seat in excitement upon discovering U2, Madonna, The Rolling Stones…whoever your mega-famous music artist(s) of choice may be…are playing at a venue near you? Have you then become a little agitated at the thought of procuring a ticket? Just consider that £106 was the cheapest price to see Jagger & Co. at one of its recent 50th anniversary gigs.

Now, however, Yahoo has nabbed the exclusive Web live-stream of the aging rockers’ December 15 gig, with the pay-per-view concert being made available online and via mobile devices. Happy days…though it will set you back a rather punchy $39.95. The concert will be live-streamed on Yahoo sites in the US, Canada, Brazil, Australia, UK and other sites globally.

The concert is the latest in a series of exclusive music events brought to the Web by Yahoo music, as well as other video content, highlighting its credentials as a media company rather than a search engine.

Yahoo has broadcast from the Clinton Foundation 10th Anniversary and iHeart Radio festival, as well as premieres for Twilight: Breaking Dawn and “The Hunger Games. And just last month, The Extremely Accurate History of the Internet landed on Yahoo Screen’s Comedy Channel, a new satirical documentary from The Onion.

The sold-out Rolling Stones concert will be broadcast live from the Prudential Center in Newark, New Jersey, kicking off at 9pm (ET).
